Over the past decades, however, it has become evident that there is much to gain by using other wavelengths of the light spectrum as well as using cosmic messengers such as gravitational waves (1) and subatomic particles called neutrinos (2, 3). The plane of the Milky Way\u2014the galaxy where Earth resides\u2014is the most clear feature of the sky at all wavelengths of light. On page 1338 of this issue, the IceCube Collaboration (4) reports statistically significant evidence for neutrinos coming from the inner parts of the Milky Way in the data collected by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory (5).
